Pulling the Problematic
You are correct, you will need to pull out the most problematic foods from your diet. This includes: corn, soy, gluten, dairy, sugar, artificial sweeteners, alcohol, processed meats, and peanuts. All of these food can be pro-inflammatory in the body – which means they will make you fat, keep you “hangry”, craving more snacks, and make you feel either stressed out or fatigued.
So, What Can I Eat?
“What can I eat?” is probably the most common question I get asked by patients. The truth is, eating and planning meals becomes very simple over time. On the B3H+® program you may have less choices, but the ones you have a great. You eat free-range chicken. You eat antibiotic, hormone-free turkey. You eat wild fish. You eat grass-fed beef. You drink plenty of protein-rich B3H+®meal replacement shakes. These are your clean and lean protein sources. You also can eat sweet potatoes, varieties of squash, black beans, lentils, legumes, quinoa, apples, and berries. Those are high-fiber, low-glycemic, and starchy carbs.
You eat raw nuts and seeds, coconut, avocado, olive oil and palm fruit oil. Those are your healthy fats. You eat loads of non-starchy vegetables, like spinach, kale, chard, arugula, lettuce greens, peppers, broccoli, bok choy, brussel sprouts, and asparagus (just to name a few of so many to choose from). When you remove all the processed foods, which contain any variety of the above “problematic” ingredients, the subtle flavors of vegetables and the natural sweetness of the berries start to taste delicious.
